God's thoughts and ways above ours, especially in the forgiveness of sins in several sermons upon Isaiah LV. 7,8,9 / by John : John Shower.   For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. (Isaiah –8) Why should you return to the Lord? Why should you go as you are to Christ and hope to be received? Because his grace is above your grace. His ways of mercy are not like ours. If you or I were God, the world would have been crushed ages ago.   Acts Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Ephesians In [Christ] we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace. So God forgives people on the basis of the sacrifice of Christ.   Bible Verses About Forgiveness - Read passages that offer biblical guidance on forgiveness and how important it is to forgive others as we have been forgiven by the blood of Christ. With the grace and mercy shown to us, we are always able to start new with God. When we repent, we are given full forgiveness of our sins because of the death and resurrection of Jesus.

Isaiah Context. 6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: 7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. 8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. Isaiah “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Next, we have to understand that as Christians, God is our authority in every area of life. Verses - O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge (or, of the riches and wisdom and knowledge) of God!By γνώσεως is signified God's omniscience; by σοφίας, his wisdom in ordering events; by πλούτου, if it be taken as a co-ordinate substantive, the abundance of his goodness (cf. Romans , πλούτος τῆς χρηστότητος.   When we clear these myths out of the way, we are left with the heart of forgiveness: That we are to forgive others (even if we think they don’t deserve it) because we were forgiven by God when.

For my thoughts are not your thoughts - Interpreters have differed in regard to the connection of this verse with the preceding. It is evident, I think, that it is properly connected with the subject of pardon; and the sense must be, that the plans and purposes of God in regard to forgiveness are as far above those of people as the heavens are higher than the earth, Isaiah For instance, 1 John says that if we repent and confess our sins, God is faithful to forgive us. You need to take hold of that. The next time you ask God to forgive you and then feel guilty afterward, open your mouth and say, "God forgave me." Quote 1 John or use another scripture but say it out loud. There is power in the tongue!   When dealing with people, confessing sins and seeking forgiveness may help heal a guilty conscience. But God doesn’t relate to us with human love. Reviewing our sins in a religious way can harm a good conscience and shipwreck our faith. Confessing-to-be-forgiven makes us sin-conscious, not Christ-conscious. Every minute you spend dwelling. Forgiveness is one of the chief characteristics we must have if we are to become literal children of God in His Kingdom. God has positions of teaching and authority prepared for us (John ; Revelation ).Because these positions come with great power, we must have a heart ready and willing to forgive and forget mistakes.
